We are seeking a creative composer to craft a unique and atmospheric musical identity for our dark fantasy deckbuilder game. The ideal candidate will blend synths, guitar, and folk/medieval influences to produce an eerie, whimsical, and memorable soundtrack that complements the game's emotional and immersive world.
For which tasks (responsibilities)?
Develop and compose original music tracks that evoke a dark fantasy, dungeon-inspired atmosphere.
Create memorable and strange soundscapes combining synths, warm guitar textures, and medieval folk colors.
Collaborate with the game design team to ensure the music enhances the game’s emotional narrative and replayability.
Integrate game-soundtrack sensibilities for music that supports gameplaywithout overwhelming it.
Incorporate influences from dungeon synth, fantasy ambient music, and reference titles such as Hyper Light Drifter and Mac DeMarco’s ambient works.
What kind of professional are we looking for?
Proven experience composing atmospheric and thematic music for games or related media.
Strong ability to blend diverse musical elements including synths, guitar textures, and medieval or folk instruments.
Knowledge of creating music suitable for repeated listening in a gameplay context.
Excellent creativity and attention to mood-building with an understanding of restraint in composition.
Ability to deliver high-quality, distinctive music within project timelines.
