Cinematic Art Director

VALUES VALUE, the main expert in gamedev is looking for a Cinematic Art Director for one of the clients.

Our client is a new-generation games partner for top independent development studios, with a focus on the rapidly growing mobile and tablet markets. The company empowers elite developers with expert resources, operational support, and funding to give carefully selected games mainstream success.

На какие задачи (обязанности)?

• Create Cinematic guidelines to set visual and product target goals.

• Collaborates with Director of Art and Video Art Director to create concept drawings, storyboards, prototypes and visual targets that help define project goals.

• Collaborates with Director of Art, Video Art Director and the Cinematic Team to establish strong performance metrics so that hits aesthetic, design and schedule targets simultaneously.

• Regularly attend and participate in cross-discipline meetings and discussions to obtain a deep understanding of project goals and dependencies including mission, narrative, and design components.

• Participate and/or Direct Performance Capture shoots.

• Participate and/or Direct Voice Over sessions.

• Provide mentorship and leadership to the Cinematic Team on visual best practices and personnel development.

• Conduct and lead regular reviews on the aesthetics of all assets(camera, body, and facial) produced by the Cinematic Team to ensure work product is of the highest quality.

• Analyze competitive products and makes recommendations to the VP of Creative on how to improve Cinematic videos.

• Works with Director of Art, Video Director and necessary parties in developing strategies to improve assets performance.

• Experience with creative visualization tools (Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere Pro and/or equivalent editing tool).

• College or university diploma in Cinema or equivalent education (preferred).

• Experience with one or more types of 3D software (Maya, 3DS Max, etc.).

• Experience with one or more types of 2D software (Toon Boom, Spine, Flash, etc).

• 10+ years in Cinematic video production.

• Experience working as a senior creative contributor or director in both broadcast and film or Mobile game marketing.

• Outstanding modern and classical cinematic fundamentals with an application towards establishing mood, tone, and emotion.

• Excellent understanding of cinematic storytelling, pacing, and character development.

• Well versed in a variety of cinematic presentation styles with an ability to adapt as needed.

• Strong understanding of modern pop culture trends within the entertainment industry with an ability to successfully apply to cinematic style as needed.

• Thorough understanding of animation theory and technique.

• Solid experience and understanding of character and animation pipelines.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, both taking and giving direction.

• Excellent directive communication and an ability to visualize creative ideas when required.

• Excellent capacity for giving and receiving instructions in addition to giving and receiving constructive, professional critique and direction.

• Proactive and professional collaboration and communication with other departments and related creative or technical areas are essential.

• Performance Capture experience a major plus.

• Must have an active, passionate interest in current mobile video games

• Reel/Portfolio/website demonstrating fundamental foundation cinematic skills, design sensibilities, and attention to detail.
