For which tasks (responsibilities)?

We’re looking for a talented Game Design Director to join our new office in Milan, Italy. You would be in charge of:

• Working in close partnership with clients and leads across all disciplines to develop a cohesive product vision that meets specified requirements in an innovative, exciting and practical way;

• Inspiring team members, leading by example and guiding their efforts to execute against the product vision;

• Supporting the team throughout all stages of design and implementation;

• Fostering a culture of openness, collaboration and learning within the design team;

• Consistently bringing out the best in the design team by providing clear and precise direction while still encouraging individual creativity; and

• Playing a key role in winning new projects and representing our studio in communications with existing/potential clients.

What kind of professional are we looking for?

• Ability to adapt, collaborate, and work effectively in solving problems across multiple disciplines;

• Ability to identify, evaluate, and overcome unique design challenges; and

• A calm and thoughtful demeanor, the Design Director should always respond calmly and constructively to challenges that arise even in the face of shifting priorities, demands and timelines.

The successful candidate is likely to be able to demonstrate:

• 3+ years of experience leading successful game development teams across various platforms and genres;

• Expertise in the tools and techniques used to build games;

• Exceptional judgment in all matters relating to game design, stemming from a deep understanding of the industry/market and hands-on experience in driving/operating successful products;

• A strong desire to develop further in their understanding of the games that we all make and play; and

• A drive to improve and take the next step in their game development career.
