  • At what stage of the project(s)? Idea
  • Genres: Puzzle
  • Platforms: PC, Mobile
For which tasks (responsibilities)?

What will you do?

We're looking for a game designer to help us create emotional, engaging content for a story-driven HOPA game.

Your responsibilities:

  • Design hidden object scenes, zoom zones, and puzzle logic that feels intuitive and rewarding.

  • Write and structure quest chains with clear objectives and smooth UX flow.

  • Create engaging mini-games and simple mechanics that match the theme and target audience.

  • Collaborate with artists and narrative designers to ensure visual clarity and storytelling alignment.

  • Break down design tasks into structured documentation for implementation.

  • Review playtests and refine gameplay based on feedback and metrics.

Your key goals:

  • Deliver content that fits the expectations of a 55+ casual audience in the mystery/detective genre.

  • Ensure that each scene includes at least 6–8 meaningful interactions, with one or more driving the plot forward.

  • Maintain pacing: each puzzle or task should be solvable within 1–5 minutes without player confusion.

  • Keep dialogue and text lean, clear, and emotionally relevant (total text per hour ~1300 characters).

  • Hit deadlines and maintain consistent content quality from concept to final design handoff.

What kind of professional are we looking for?

Who are we looking for?

A game designer who understands how to build meaningful gameplay for a casual audience — especially within the HOPA genre.

What we expect:

  • Experience designing hidden object scenes, mini-games, or quest chains for casual or narrative-driven games.

  • Strong grasp of game structure, flow, and UX — especially for players 55+.

  • Ability to clearly document mechanics, interactions, and object logic.

  • Basic understanding of narrative integration in gameplay.

  • Familiarity with spreadsheets, Figma, and Google Docs for task structuring.

  • Upper-Intermediate English or higher — for reading briefs and writing short in-game texts clearly.

Nice to have:

  • Experience working on commercial HOPA titles (mobile or PC).

  • Basic knowledge of Unity scene structure.

  • Passion for mystery, detective, or cozy narrative games.

  • Visual thinking and ability to describe layouts for artists and developers.

The selection process

What does the hiring process look like?

  1. Short intro call (30 min) — with a producer or lead game designer. We'll talk about your experience and goals.

  2. Test task — design a HOPA scene with a simple quest chain (1 working day, paid if you’re moving forward).

  3. Final call — feedback + discussion of terms and collaboration format.

We aim to make decisions within 5–7 days after receiving the test task.

What to include in your cover letter:

  • Briefly describe your experience with casual, puzzle, or narrative games.

  • If you've worked on HOPA projects — mention it!

  • Add 1–2 sentences on what you enjoy designing most: puzzles, quests, scenes, etc.
