For which tasks (responsibilities)?
Frogwares is seeking a Material/Texturing Artist to join the team working on our upcoming survival horror game, The Sinking City 2. We’re looking for someone with a strong blend of artistic sensibility and technical knowledge to craft high-quality 2D textures that enhance the realism and immersion of our game. Your work will cover both character elements (such as clothing and props) and environmental assets.
Key Responsibilities:
Texture Creation: Produce high-resolution, detailed textures that meet our artistic and technical standards.
Visual Consistency: Ensure textures align with the overall visual style, following PBR (Physically Based Rendering) principles.
Realistic Detailing: Introduce variation and subtle detail to avoid repetition and increase realism.
Cross-Team Collaboration: Cooperate with the Lighting, 3D Modeling, and Concept Art teams to ensure cohesive results.
Ongoing Development: Keep up with the latest tools and industry practices to continuously improve workflow and texture quality.
Optimization: Apply best practices in texture optimization, including mipmapping and appropriate texture formats.
What kind of professional are we looking for?
Texturing Software Proficiency: Solid experience with Substance Painter, Substance Designer, and Adobe Photoshop.
3D Modeling Tools: Familiarity with software like Maya or 3ds Max.
Game Engine Experience: Basic knowledge of Unreal Engine, especially for texture integration.
PBR Workflow: Strong understanding of PBR pipelines and how to create textures accordingly.
Art Fundamentals: Good grasp of color theory, composition, and lighting behavior in materials.
Version Control: Understanding of Git or similar version control systems.
Communication: Good spoken English for effective collaboration with the team.
