Values Value, a recruiting company with expertise in gamedev, is looking for an experienced Lead Technical Artist for our client, a start-up company, founded and established in Cyprus by entrepreneurs and veterans of the video gaming industry with more than 10-15 years of experience in game development. The studio develops PC session-based multiplayer hero-based sport action game.

Team size and structure?
For which tasks (responsibilities)?
Work closely with the art director/leads to drive and evangelize the artistic vision of the game;
Oversee the development of art pipelines including proprietary tools, software plugins, and ingame technology;
Assist in planning asset production in collaboration with the FX, concept, character and level teams;
Set and share best practices within the group;
Be a reference for the team in relation to technical art and find solutions to complex issues that arise;
Optimize content for memory and performance gains;
Understand and communicate to the team the technical and artistic constraints;
Anticipate and recognize potential production issues and recommend solutions;
Motivate and develop the team members and act as a mentor in terms of technical/artistic aspects.
What kind of professional are we looking for?
5+ years of experience as a technical artist;
Strong knowledge of all aspects of the Unreal Engine, with a heavy emphasis on Materials, Lightning, Animation, Niagara, and more;
Experience writing GLSL/HLSL shaders;
Advanced experience with Maya/3D Max;
Comfortable in a range of content creation software including Photoshop, Adobe Substance Designer/Painter, Zbrush/Mudbox, etc;
Collaborate with the art and technical teams guiding best practices for real-time asset optimization, promoting efficient workflows, and offering innovative technical solutions to maintain quality while maximizing performance;
Establish and manage memory and performance structure;
Solid organization skills with adherence to file structures, naming conventions, and other established protocols;
Streamline production by creating feasible pipelines and finding ways to automate tasks and improve processes.
Experience writing custom Maya tools and scripts using Python and/or MEL;
Intermediate and above English level.
