Who we are — since 2021
Octo Games is a Netherlands-registered, fully remote studio building PC/Steam titles. We unite 10+ indie teams, grew from 20 people (2023) to 125+ (2025), and have shipped 150+ projects across genres with a core focus on Adult (18+) visual novels.

What are you working on?

For which tasks (responsibilities)?
Design and document gameplay systems and the core loop for 2–4 players.
Own level design basics: pacing, roles, interactions, challenges.
Prototype ideas (greyboxes, balance sheets, simple Unity scenes).
Keep GDD/specs and flows (Miro/Figma) clear and up to date.
Turn design into actionable tasks for art/engineering; sync with Producer.
Run playtests, gather feedback/metrics, and iterate.
What kind of professional are we looking for?
Hands-on experience as a Game Designer and solid grasp of co-op genre patterns (roles, synergy, fail states, communication).
Level design skills and base balancing.
Experience building prototypes/vertical slices.
Unity basics are a plus.
Strong written communication: clear GDD/specs and flowcharts.
Critical thinking, respect for scope/constraints, outcome focus.
Love for games and desire to grow in co-op design.
Nice to have
Participation in large 3D titles as GD/Level Designer.
Basic programming and/or 3D modeling skills.
Pet projects taken to a playable state or release (itch.io/Steam).
