Technical Artist (Ukraine)

Volmi — A Virtuos Studio is an outsourcing company that specializes in game development and game content creation. Over the past 9 years, we have successfully completed over a thousand different projects and have gained considerable experience in creating 2D and 3D art, as well as developing turnkey games. Since 2022, we have been a part of Virtuos, the world’s leading game developer, and have become the first Virtuos studio in Eastern Europe.

In particular, we have contributed to the development of popular games such as Diablo 2: Resurrected, Metro Exodus, Sniper: Ghost Warrior Contracts 2, Smite, Paladins, Gwent: The Witcher Card Game, and Marvel Snap. Therefore our team creates high-end gaming content and games for various Mobile, PC, Console, and VR projects.

We are looking for a skilled and passionate Junior Technical Artist to join our team and help shape the visual worlds of our current and upcoming AA/AAA titles as part of a 6-month contract collaboration!

For which tasks (responsibilities)?

• Creating and setting up assets.

• Optimizing projects for performance and quality.

• Maintaining and supporting existing projects.

• Creating master materials inside Unreal Engine.

• Supporting teams with technical solutions based on project needs.

• Collaborating daily with Art Directors, Producers, and Lead Artists to ensure visual and technical quality across the board.

What kind of professional are we looking for?

• Solid knowledge of Unreal Engine 5.

• Strong understanding of the PBR workflow.

• Experience with a broad range of shader creation techniques inside UE5 (node-based, not code).

• Basic knowledge of any major 3D industry software (Maya, Blender, 3ds Max).

• Understanding of rendering pipelines.

• Upper-Intermediate level of English (able to communicate freely with English-speaking team members).

• Comfortable working in a multicultural environment.

• Able to express thoughts clearly and digest feedback effectively.

• Willingness to share knowledge in a structured and understandable way.

Will Be a Plus:

• Familiarity with Unity engine.

• Passion for games and solid knowledge of modern game industry standards.

• Technical understanding of shader optimization pipelines in UE5.

• Experience in documentation or knowledge sharing within a team.
