Remote, Berlin
Hi there! We are Paintbucket, an award-winning indie studio from Berlin, founded by two AAA veterans: Jörg Friedrich and Sebastian St. Schulz. We develop games that matter, with sociopolitically relevant themes, delivering meaningful messages through strong narratives. Our debut game, Through the Darkest of Times, is a critically acclaimed antifascist strategy game, focused on civil resistance during the Nazi era. The game secured us the German Development Award (Deutscher Entwicklerpreis) and the German Video Game Award (Deutscher Computerspielpreis). The studio is currently ramping up pre-production of a sequel, which revolves around legal reconnaissance of NS crimes in post-war Germany.
